Teach the Mind to Stay

Meditation practice takes courage, patience, and the ability to pay close attention to our own experience. We are asked to look inward, to dive into our own heart beyond all mental fabrication, to truly see what is seen with a mind that is still, clear, objective, and so purified. Now we see – at last – the mind empty of opinions or commentary, anchored from running backwards or forwards. As the witness here and now, we refine the quality of our attention through each moment of knowing things just as they are – studying each breath just as it is. With the mind in stillness, staying present, we see clearly and we focus our mental lens inwardly to transcend thinking and to capture the purest state of being. So profound it is that we remove the dust of lifetimes from the inner eye. Then we can say that we have truly seen.
