Buddhist Women on a Path of Spiritual Awakening
We value peace of mind and yet life may seem fraught with complexity and stress.. How can we nurture inner calm in the midst of unsettling conditions? We need to take the time to stop and study the mind. See the arising of displeasure and investigate its origins. Are we angry with the anger we feel, caught up with endless desires, confused and overwhelmed by life choices? It is possible to go beyond these mental states and find that island of peace within which will brighten the mind and enable us to develop ethical perfection which can bestow true inner peace. It is the most carbon free footprint – complete harmlessness, enlightenment itself. A talk given at the OBS retreat in Arnprior, Ontario, 2007.
