We welcome visitors to spend time at the Hermitage and participate in our daily life; sharing meals with us, meditating, helping with general maintenance of the property – gardening, carpentry, cleaning or repairs – and experiencing the peace of this contemplative rural sanctuary.

To reach us by car from Ottawa, travel southwest on Highway 417. Take the exit to Highway 7 (Peterborough, Carlton Place, Perth) and continue on to Perth. In Perth, continue straight through the town going west on Highway #7 for 10-12 minutes. When your reach Doran Road, turn right and go 1.3 kilometres until your first street on the right – that’s McVeigh Rd. Turn right. The Hermitage is the first farm on the left side of the road.
If you are coming from Toronto and you reach Highway 7 going east, pass the village of Maberly and continue for another 6-7 minutes until you see the sign for Doran Road. Turn left and go 1.3 kilometres until your first street on the right – that’s McVeigh Rd. Turn right. The Hermitage is the first farm on the left side of the road.
